Appealing to Complexity
If we assume that we do not see only with our eyes but with our souls, emotions and minds, we are
going to find that the so-called theories of color -whatever theories-, are only rational
explanations of the NATURE of color and the physiology of the eye. Which as McLuhan and Powers
say," may have prompted beginnings of linear logic" besides "hierarchical reasoning", a sensory
preference of the left brain hemisphere. Those theories are not integral explanations to the
WHOLE ACT OF LOOKING AT or FEELING FROM, and consequently they lack THE SENSE OF HYPERDYNAMICS
found in any angle of the realm of reality. All this tells us about the frustration of actually
facing the making of most of Visual Art based on the physics, physiology, philosophy and
technology from other times, in the belief they are a panacea to get masterpieces done,
instead of visual data to be used as a resource in the grasping of reality. More specifically
by perverting the use of:
1-5th Century B.C. Greek Golden Section
2-15th Century Italian Perspective Theory
3-18th Century Newton Theory of Color
4-Late 19th Century French Impressionism
5-Early 20th Century Picasso's Deconstruction of Form
6-Early 20th Century Duchamp's Criticism of the Art's Object & the Retinian Art, to take a few
examples.
And only if we could grasp rightly the reality of our times, we would become contemporaneous
with those masters who had the courage and the vision...and grasped it.
So, in appealing to the spirit and consciousness of complexity and its intuitions about the
differences and transitions between linear and nonlinear realities as well their impact on human
consciousness through the development of both linear and nonlinear visuality. The exploring of
transitions between nonlinear consciousness to a linear-nonlinear aesthetical order. The curious
synthesis of the most complex processes in the act of creative imagination just to reach new
levels of complexity consciousness. We must find a new boosting cocktail of
harmonies-disharmonies to bring new metaimage-answers to a new millennium of our expectations,
and clever metaimage-questions to ask after a century of complex chaos and human endurance for
disaster...
As the Information Age (Post-Information-Age?) is full of creative possibilities, we can find
in its metatechnology and sustained philosophy images, colors, forms, sounds, waves and
particles to unveil a new reality range of mysteries to our thirsty spirits!.
