'VOICES FOR PEACE' Project..

As all of you know our dear fellow Basil Watson is actually visiting his homeland of Jamaica. There he is making time for our organization in negotiating and promoting the Celebration of our next Second International Encounter JAMAICA 2007.

THE IDEA IS TO CELEBRATE THERE OUR ANNUAL ART SHOW AS WELL OTHER CULTURAL ACTIVITIES LIKE GIVING WORKSHOPS FOR PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS AND ART STUDENTS ABOUT OUR ARTISTIC VISION OF THE WORLD.

Basil in coordination with me, is also considering the Initiative to build a Tribute or Memorial for Peace which could be allocated on the seafront of Jamaica.

Such artwork will require every artist participation because it will include sculptures from all our Members participating and visiting Jamaica 2007.

So the general concept is the following:
A proposal for our yearly event.. 'VOICES FOR PEACE'

1-We may build an encircled Memorial Installation of sculptures in the seafront of Jamaica. we can make something like VOICES FOR PEACE as an allegory for Universal Peace .

2-The encircled Memorial Installation will be composed of 10 or 20 small sized sculptures (as the number of participant sculptors in the Annual Art Expo), in different materials and suited to the outdoor environment. Those materials could be from wood, stone, iron, glass, concrete, steele, aluminium, fiber glass, recycled materials, etc.

3-The total size of the diameters memorial could be 10 to 20 meters, (Do you Remember Stonhenge in England?!!...)

4-And just located right on the center The Map of Jamaica formed by small coloured stones that each artist could bring from the place of their origin, plus Jamaican stones.

5-The total high of the memorial could be of different meisures as each art work needs..
Meaning Unity as well our respect for Diversity..ok

6-The site to place our Memorial Installation of sculptures 'VOICES FOR PEACE' should be in front of the Caribbean Ocean.

7-All 21 Plus Members going to Jamaica will have to participate in it besides our Annual Art Exhibition, and as part of our cultural Agenda there.

So as you can see the First Project Sketch considers:
-The idea to build a Circular Stone Pathway on the Seafront, there on the center of it will be Jamaicas Map on the top of a Doves Stone either Wing or Body, also there will be a Doves head. Around it and just on top of the stone pathway, all our members different sculptures, whatever we like, because the First Sketch is only an example about the general concept..ok

So my dear fellows I am sending to all of you the First Project Sketch Graphic so you can get an idea about what Basil and myself are considering to contribute for the Universal Cause of Peace, as all of us are professional artists as well dedicated believers working daily for Creativity and Peace!

Proyecto 'VOCES POR LA PAZ'

Como todos saben nuestro muy querido amigo y colega Basil Watson esta actualmente de visita en su pais de origen Jamaica. Alla el se encuentra negociando y promoviendo la Celebracion de nuestro Segundo Encuentro Internacional Grupo 21 Plus JAMAICA 2007.

LA IDEA ES CELEBRAR ALLA NUESTRA EXPOSICION ANUAL DE ARTE ASI COMO OTRAS ACTIVIDADES CULTURALES TALES COMO DAR TALLERES PARA ARTISTAS PROFESIONALES Y ESTUDIANTES DE ARTE ACERCA DE NUESTRA VISION ARTISTICA DEL MUNDO.

Basil en coordinacion conmigo esta tambien considerando la Iniciativa de construir un Homenaje o Memorial Instalacion de esculturas por la Paz que estaria colocado en alguna de las playas de Jamaica.

Semejante proyecto requerira de la participacion de todos los artistas presentes en nuestro Encuentro Anual Jamaica 2007.

El Concepto General es el siguiente:

Propuesta para nuestro Encuentro Anual.
'VOCES POR LA PAZ'

1-Construiremos un Memorial por la Paz como una Instalacion Circular de esculturas en las Playas de Jamaica. Se llamara 'VOCES POR LA PAZ' COMO UNA ALEGORIA POR LA PAZ y de nuestro espiritu solidario y colectivo.

2-La Instalacion Memorial Circular estara compuesta de 10 a 20 esculturas de mediana escala (la cantidad de esculturas sera igual al total de Miembros asistentes al Encuentro) y en diferentes materiales apropiados al medio ambiente exterior tales como Acero, Aluminio, Madera, Piedra, Hierro, Concreto, Vidrio, Fibra de Vidrio o Materiales Reciclados.

3-La medida diametral del Circulo Memorial sera de entre 10 a 20 metros.. (recuerdan Stonhenge en Inglaterra por ejemplo?) O sea estamos recreando tradiciones y simbolismos de caracter milenario.

4-Justo en en su Centro colocaremos el Mapa de Jamaica con piedras de colores traidas por cada artista desde sus paises de origen y asimismo piedras de Jamaica.

5-La altura total del Memorial sugerira distintas medidas tantas como cada pieza de arte necesite. Esta expresara Unidad a la vez que respeto por nuestra Diversidad..

6-El sitio de nuestro Memorial Instalacion de escultura 'VOCES POR LA PAZ' sera colocado enfrente del mar Caribe.

7-Todos nuestro miembros visitantes en Jamaica deberan trabajar con su escultura en este Memorial como parte de nuestra Agenda Cultural a desarrollar alla.

Como ustedes podran ver en el Primer boceto que les adjunto con este email este considera:
-La Idea de construir sobre un sendero circular de piedra, el cual llevara en su centro y sobre un Ala de una Paloma de la Paz o en su cuerpo) el mapa de Jamaica. (En realidad y si usamos piedras redondas de colores este sugerira poeticamente un Nido por la Paz!)
En su entrada habra una cabeza de la Paloma de la Paz.

-Todo esto sera siguiendo la Ruta del camino circular de piedra con nuestras diferentes esculturas, cualquiera que esta sea, porque esta Grafica que les envio es el primer ejemplo boceto-interpretativo del Concepto general.

Entonces Queridisimos Colegas ya estoy enviando a todos ustedes este proyecto que tanto Basil como yo consideramos nuestra Contribucion a la Causa Universal Por La Paz. Pues creemos que todos nosotros somos artistas profesionales quienes trabajamos diariamente creyendo en un mundo de Creatividad y Paz Universal.
